Our production of John Logan's Red was the first-ever performance in the Performing Arts Council's workshop (41st & Walnut). We take seriously our commitment to the Theatre Arts Council, performing-arts, and wider Penn communities, which motivated the following post:
iNtuitons Board 19 April 2016 iNtuitons was founded to provide an outlet for ideas too "classical," "avant-garde," "experimental,” or otherwise unusual for other groups in the Theatre Arts Council. We realize that Penn's competitive, business-oriented spirit has monetized the creative expression that is otherwise so important on college campuses. In light of this, we find high ticket prices to be commonplace, and ourselves complacent. iNtuitons is taking the iNitiative to "shake up" the status quo by halving our ticket price. We hope affordable tickets will make the art we create together more open and available to those who wish to experience it. While we are proud to stand apart, it frustrates us that lowering this barrier to entry would make any group unusual. Going forward, iNtuitons pledges to keep its shows accessible for all. We are committed to diverse casts, underrepresented stories, and affordable tickets. Participating or watching one of our shows should never pose financial hardship. |
